Piano Hand Routines That Can Let You Practice Just Like The Pro Players

By Peter Perkins

Pianist should make piano hand routines an element of their routine to sustain adroit flexible fingers. Just as athletes make use of muscles, so do pianists. Exercising those muscles every single day really helps to keep them expanded and functioning adequately. The exercises help you to engage in a wide range of musical styles proficiently.

Play musical scales to exercise your hands. Sit up tall on the piano bench. To ensure correct body alignment, make sure your posture is accurate. Situate your right hand on the keys. Beginning with you thumb, play growing notes, moving up the scale with each finger. Use different finger to play each note. Start off slow until you get the hang of it. Make your notes coherent. Once you reach the top note, go the other way. Relax your pinky, and finish the note with your thumb. Begin playing faster the more comfortable you become.

Your tendons and muscles will get looser as you massage your hands and forearms. This minimizes stress while you play. Place a tennis sized ball on sturdy exterior. Roll your forearm slowly and tenderly across the ball. Keep your shoulders loosened. Keep this up for at least a minute, then relax for about 30 seconds. Turn your arm until your forearm is palm-upward on the table. Now place the ball in your opposite hand. Now roll the ball over your hand, forearm and wrist. After doing this for a minute, take a 30 break, then repeat it throughout the day.

When you strectch your palms, it improves your ability to play. Set your left palm on top of your right palm. Your right arm will be facing left and your left are pointing right. Place your hands before your chest. Interlink your pinky and your thumbs. At this point, your three middle fingers should touch your palms. Spread your palms as you gradually push your hands together. Maintain this posture for about 10 seconds. Stop pressing your hands together and relax. Duplicate this exercise twice.

Curl your fingers to strengthen them. Put your right hand in position on the piano keys. Curve your fingers so that it looks like you have a ball. Set your fingers on the right keys. Pretend as if you were playing a brief note and move your finger rapidly. Do it five times, relax for four seconds, and then do the other fingers. Move on to your left hand. Another finger exercise is hitting the keys and sustaining the note for two seconds. Gradually start using both hands at the same time during exercises.
